Club “In Our House” – Netanya

The “In Our House” club is located at 13 Shitriker Street in Netanya and is a special place of encounter, warmth, and community. Around 90 people meet here regularly – Holocaust survivors, recent immigrants, and people who experienced the war in non-occupied territories and yet still had to endure hunger, deprivation, and great hardship.

The club meets three times a week (Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays). Members shape their daily lives together with a variety of activities such as yoga, Pilates, choir, drama, painting, and English and Hebrew classes. In addition, all Israeli holidays and birthdays are celebrated together – with lovingly set tables, treats, and small gifts for everyone.

The club has been run by volunteers for seven years. Previously, the parents of the current director – themselves Holocaust survivors – shaped the club for 25 years. Even though they are no longer alive, their memory lives on within the walls of this house.

The rent is covered by the municipality, but much else is accomplished through volunteer work and dedication. What the club currently misses most are group outings around the country and performances by artists who bring joy and variety to everyday life.

What makes this place special is its warm, family atmosphere: a true home that people come to in all kinds of weather to talk, laugh, and experience community. Guests are always welcome – and we are especially delighted to welcome our dear friends, the Ditze family.

Club Sponsorship by Hineni e.V.

The Hineni e.V. association has assumed a club sponsorship for the "In Our House" club. As part of this sponsorship, we support the club with a monthly donation of €100 to promote encounters, community, and dignity in the daily lives of its members. This partnership expresses our connection, gratitude, and responsibility towards the people who have experienced so much – and who still deserve a warm home today.
